Modern challenges for the Russian budget system

Abstract

The paper analyses contemporary challenges for Russia’s budget system: dependence on oil and gas revenues, sanctions pressure, inflation and deficits. It examines structural problems and ways to address them, proposing strategic measures: economic diversification, digitalisation of public administration and improved budget spending efficiency.
