Integration of economy of the Rostov region and economy of the Republic of Crimea – new prospects for the don busoness

Abstract

It has been almost two years after the referendum in the Crimea, and following joining of Crimea as a new subject of the Russian Federation. However, the most difficult stage of development of Crimea as part of Russia is just ahead - namely, the integration of the economy with the closest economic actors - the economy of the Rostov and Krasnodar regions. This process is irreversible objective process, which was the result of almost complete termination of all business and economic relations with Ukraine. In the struggle for the Crimean market, the main competitor of the Rostov region business acts as noted Krasnodar region. Purely geographically, our neighbours certainly have a strategic advantage in terms of the supply of goods to the peninsula with the lowest transportation costs. Then what are the advantages of Don Business? To answer this question, in the article we consider the most competitive industries and highlight strategic opportunities for business of Rostov region
