It analyzes the reasons for the intensification of migration processes due to increased sanctions pressure and the start of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to the mixed nature of emigration, which combines elements of forced and planned migration. The impact of the outflow of skilled personnel on the innovative potential and competitiveness of the Russian economy is assessed, and the social and demographic consequences of emigration are analyzed, including a split in society, an aging population, and a decline in the birth rate. In conclusion, the need to develop comprehensive measures to mitigate the negative consequences of migration processes and ensure sustainable economic development of Russia is emphasized.
