This article examines the authoritarian management style as a rudimentary form of power organization in modern institutions. The historical background and evolution of this management style in the context of modern society are analyzed. Special attention is paid to its characteristics: rigid hierarchy, centralized decision-making and limited freedom of subordinates. The reasons for the persistence of authoritarianism in a few organizations and its impact on efficiency, motivation and culture are investigated.
